Gaming Online SeF

2001

This was the foundation year of the Sabres Elite Force - Europe. We thank Quirrino2000 as he took the 1st step in making [SeF] in what it is today. The main game back then was Red Faction, a very high paced action shooter which many gamers still play even today.

The first [SeF] team was: Anarchy, Kou Leifoh, Efra, Quirino2000, Dugar, Madhouse and many more... Respect them!

2002

Quirino had to leave for the Army, so an other caretaker had to be found. And so [SeF] got a female in charge of the team. Named Claire Claws and one of the best female fighters on the Red Faction scene.

Also in this year due to inactivity, the US part of the clan was shut down. So the [SeF-E] tag was reduced to only [SeF] and today still is.

By the end of 2002 the clan counted 24 members including 9 [SeF-Y] players. They were the youngsters in [SeF] and all under the age of 16 and they played vs own age teams.

And [SeF] clan got its first own public clan server. And this server is still in use and hardware maintenance/connection is made possible by Kees, Tef, Lamert, Mark and DD's no.1, Teep.

2003

In this year we joined the United Clan Wars (UCW) League. In January we started with the 1st war in our ladder.

And the main team back then was: McCoy, Big P, Maroder, Eternal, Ghanz, AlF, Claire Claws, LIX, Apple and $IM.

Unfortunetly, slowly the game of Red Faction started to "die". And it was time that [SeF] went in search for a new game. The choice became the favorite X-box game, Halo: Combat Evolved.

2004

Well, Halo was certainly an interesting game but it didnt last as long as Red Faction had done. We were active in the Clan Base ladder with HALO but the game lost its reputation due to the bad netcode and unbalanced weaponery.

Again we needed to move. And we became active in Battlefield:Vietnam, the sucessor of the popular BF:1942. This game was certainly a new experience for most of us as we never played in realistic scenery games.

Till now [SeF]'s full name was Special Elite Forces but Clanbase database showed that there were more clans named SeF and also named Special Elite Forces....

So we got renamed to "Second Edition Forces" but the tag remained the same as players still are recognized by it as that clan from good 'ol days in RF.

2005

The year 2005 started with a hectic change to Call of Duty:UO. The [SeF]'s waited untill all had a copy of this game but for some it was the moment to split of into a new clan. But [SeF] got a HQ1 server up in CoD:UO and from day one this server was a big hit with its nice maps and great AWE-mod installed.

When we came to CoD:uo we used as HQ1 a sponsord gameserver. But recently we ended this alignment and started to use our verry own server again.

Now [SeF] clan is waiting on the release of Call of Duty2.

2006

In 2006 we bought our own gameserver. And so we expanded our total of [SeF]HQ's that are always up and running to 4 and with enough room left to set up some extra practise, demo and warservers.

The release of CoD2 was later then expected. And, although the game was looking ok, it was poorly presented to us. ( NO anti-cheat, NO map-editor, it crashed every 10 minutes on overflow errors.)

So when the first patch arrived the damage was already done: They had created this cheatable CoD2 version that came straight out of the box. And so new MP players were directly confronted with many unpatched servers and so with the crappy gamestate and cheaters.

And no patch would ever get us those lost players back......

So to spice up our Public Servers we started to host and play also the game Day of Defeat: Source. Because DoD: Source is a game that is verry simular to CoD2 but this game never had the starting-up problems like Call of Duty2 had.

As Clan we are thighter as never before. We are all proud to be in this European mixed clan. And the fact that every country of Europe only can be be home to 2 of our members (with one Norwegian living in the Philippines on this moment) helps to give the [SeF]clan that bit of extra in the friendship between the members and [SeF]'s contact with other clans.

We gave our CoD2 HQ5 gameserver to the Lt. clan from France to be their 'maison' in CoD.

2007

We waited and finally got Call of Duty4. So a big Bye Bye to the disaster called CoD2.

The [SeF] eXtreme HQ4, the never (!) patched CoD2 server, stayed up because of popularity. But the HQ1 and HQ2 became now our public Call of Duty 4 servers.

We took members of the Lt. clan up in our clan. But we gave some old friends (way back from the Red Faction days) our HQ2 to call it their verry own [PS] TDM - PORK SCRATCHINGS! Cod4 server.

So with our old and new friends [SeF]clan enjoys playing this great "fresh" game called CoD4.
