After eleven months of modding, mapping, scripting and skinning it’s basically done! On time with Christmas we are happy to present our Beta 0.4 of Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare.
It all began with a 3D-model, and soon the idea to extend this theme as a non commercial fan project was born. It’s our goal to unite our favourite game CoD4:MW with the classic universe of Star Wars, as the best trilogy ever.
With this total conversion we will combine lot of the known battlegrounds, characters and weapons of Star Wars with the fantastic gameplay of the COD4-Multiplayer.
Either as a trooper of the Imperial Forces or as a soldier from the Rebel Alliance you will fight on Tatooine in the streets of the legendary space harbour Mos Eisley. The Beta contains one map but others in different locations as well as further weapons and player models are of course in the works.
This modification for COD4 is a result of the co-operative collaboration of many ambitioned modders who create this spare time project together as a team. Everyone involved contributes the own skills in the areas in which their expertise is at its best. So far, the core team consists of Mapicted, Xfckup, Old Man With Gun, Xiao, Rollercoaster, T.R. Graves, Sizzer, Zeroy, Nightwing and Novemberdobby. We of course got a lot of help also from other modders and members of the worldwide community. Thanks for all the help and feedback!

34. Modern Warfare 2 menu and in-game freezes and lag-spikes
The 'Cooperdale' fix :

When you first start the game the firewall will ask if you want to allow it to access your network.
If you answer yes, this should create two rules in the advanced section of the firewall control panel.
One rule is for udp, the other for tcp.
If you block both but have upnp enabled on the router, you'll have nat strict.
If you enable udp, you'll have nat open.
There is no need to enable tcp, and if you do you'll get the freezes and lag spikes.
So tcp incoming needs to be blocked with your firewall, whichever it may be.
With this firewall/router configuration you get no port scanning, ergo no freezes, with an acceptable degree of security.

35. Can't find or hardly any Modern Warfare 2 MP games in playlist .
Sometimes it works just to let the game finding games. Then suddenly, can be more then 10+ min later, it gives : "Playlist has an update, the playlist update will be downloaded". After that you can find games.
or
Clear the Modern Warfare 2 exceptions and re-apply MW2 MP/SP in the Windows Firewall.
The Xbox 360 patch for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 went officially live. It is the same patch that fixed numerous bugs and balancing issues on the Playstation 3 version.
A patch is also in the works for the PC version. There's been no mention of when that one will be released.
For the first time Steam had to make an EXTRA help link on its General Steam Support page.
The amount of problems that comes with playing CoD Modern Warfare 2 must be fluding Steam's email-inbox. Never before a game got singled out and got a help-link on Steam Support's frontpage.
I'm afraid the link wont help because there are still more errors then answers...
Video that shows that the Texture Hack for Modern Warfare 2 (patched 1.0.174) is still present.
Infinity Ward did fix the, for this texture hack, used ’security hole’ in the MW2 scripting but with plenty of similar "holes" still present; this cheat now just uses another "hole". So nothing is fixed with the recent MW2 1.0.174 patch.
The MW2 auto-updating to patch version 1.0.174 was done in a strange way....
First Infinity Ward downgraded all MW2 PC players back to version 1.0.169 and then everyone was patched to version 1.0.174
Some players (what's new) got an errorscreen after the downgrade/update was finnished.
