As much I may like/dislike the P2P MW2 matchmaking system, it gives me one big problem. MW2 matchmaking is made for Internet connections that don't have datalimits (adsl, cable). But I have a monthly transfer limit...
For some reason my pc is 8/10 times picked as "best host" because I have a very good pc and connection (1.5mbit). Sure, I want to "host" a game but I can't. Because I have this datatransfer limit of 60gb/month (very common in Belgium) and hosting PC MW2 games is using up all of my limit before the month has ended.
In the past, when I played on CoD4 dedicated servers, I didnt have much upload and it was ok. But now is just ridiculous. I dont want to host games, I just want to play MW2 online!
I also hate the fact that PC users dont know that their PC is being used as a "server". And I hope this problem will be solved in the future by either the dedicated server solution or hosted servers by IWNet.
For more information I refer to my blog where I have a solution to NOT let your PC being abused as server.
