The delay of PC CoD MW2 or.... The delay of any official word from Activision.
by Claire Claws
Some of us, Call of Duty Veterans, are having these flashbacks atm. Because simple questions don't get answered.
So it feels as if a buyer of a Call of Duty game doesn't have the right on any usefull information. You just hand over your money and you hope - HOPE - to get the new game on the day it gets released. And hopefully.... this time it is a game you can actually play on day one.
Most of today's companies have Customer Support. You phone or email them whenever you have a question about one of the companies products. Then they will tell you what you can expect or must do. Simple and fast.
But "The delayed PC version of Modern Warfare 2" is this strange story of one half of the shops having 11/10 and the other half having 11/24 as the official release date for PC MW2 version. Even a pre-order shop on the official IW MW2 website now uses the 11/24 date.... And this shop emailed their pre-order customers this week; to tell them that the release date for PC MW2 got delayed by two weeks. (btw. nice example of excellent customer service.)
So....... WHEN can ALL PC gamers expect his/her, already paid for, copy of this new and amazing PC MW2 game to be delivered at their homes?
When customers now email their shop with this question some say they got this new list with 11/24 and so they changed the dates. But some shops didn't receive anything and honestly believe the release date will still be 11/10.
But clearly some employees from Activision or Infinity Ward must know when the release can be expected?
And that is the moment the flashback kicks in....
- Infinity Ward's Fourzerotwo claims he knows nothing and will ask ? And will let us know asap. That was almost 2 days ago and since then 402 only twitters holiday/family novels.
- An other IW employee tells he is not allowed to tell.
- No replies on the emails send to Activision by XXXX amount of "wanna know" customers.
- Contacts on Activision's inside went asking but don't call back with a simple answer.
- ????
For four days it's like the Activision's Marketing Media Circus came to a halt. And all because ONE website published the Acivisions's autumn/winter release list with dates. And slowly the new release date found its way around the world. Ok... half the world.
But what can they tell us? And what about the release-day party? What to wear? Hopefully MTV makes it an item. Will we be number one in the sales chart in December? Do I need a hair cut? O NO, not again an interview.....
HELLOOOO.... We are here. Inform us. We are the reason you exist. We are the customers.
