The Modern Warfare 2 PC boycott really is picking up steam with lots of terrible pre-release reviews and server owners making their selves known.
Following Infinity Ward's announcement that the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 would not be supporting dedicated services, a first for Call of Duty, the PC community has shown their displeasure en masse.
A petition against the decision has surpassed 140,000 signatures, and now the PC community is overflowing into the rest of the internet. The PC version of the game now has 162 one-star reviews on Amazon.co.uk - which is sure to make an impact on potential purchasers.
A quick search for servers on Game-Monitor.com reveals over 330 servers with "Boycott MW2" in their title. These dedicated servers are for previous Call of Duty games, including Infinity Ward's first Modern Warfare and Treyarch's World at War.
Some how we don't think that there's going to be a resolution, since Infinity Ward sincerely believes that their new system is better for everyone. PC gamers might agree when the game is released; if they buy it that is.
Here's a video run-down of the boycott and the reasons for its existence, for those of you who might have missed something:
This isn't the first Modern Warfare 2 boycott. Many gamers are upset at Activision's decision to sell the game at £10 more than most other games on the market.
