Yes, the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a Hackers Heaven.
And selling this PC game with (402's words on, MW2 Developer, Infinity Ward's main page) :
"Cheat / Hack Free Games: The biggest benefit of using IWnet by far is the fact that you don’t have to worry about joining a server full of aim-bots, wallhacks, or cheaters. Or relying on the server admin of the server to constantly be monitoring, banning, and policing it. Modern Warfare 2 on PC allows us to control the quality of the game much more than ever before as well as utilizing the VAC (Valve-Anti-Cheat) system to keep games clean of hackers and cheaters.
All in all, IWNET adds a load of new features that the PC version of our games have never had before and allows us an infrastructure to continue to update and improve on the game post-launch."
is now proven to be opportunistic daydreaming.
Because ZERO ping for the "server" player and 100+ ping for the players who are forced to join this "server" plus IW can't stop hackers coming in (patching doesn't work) is today's MW2 MP reality.
So when it comes to low ping servers and playing CoD Multi Player without hackers or annoying game spoilers.....
Dedicated Gameservers with rcon holders are the things you always can rely on for fair and fun for all.
Think it is time to call PC Modern Warfare 2 a poorly developed sequel. (Many also had to downgrade their PC settings just to be able to play MW2. )
But Infinity Ward 's job was done on Nov 12 2009. And the controlled media is still doing Activision a favour. Reporting that this game made it past the 1 billion in sales. (so it must be great game...)
That they sold thousands of crappy developed PC copies (because thousands of players had to seek help to get this game to run on their PC) and you can find hackers in almost every MW2 MP game seems to be not important enough to publish about.
With only a few months left till the "media marketing machine" turns to Treyarch's newest title. And the whole "pre-view trailer and interview" circus starts again.....
