FPS Modern Warfare 2 now locked at 90

I have 3-way sli with BFG GTX 260s oc editions. I have 8gb of ram and a phenom II 955 processor. I was getting like 140+ average fps in Modern Warfare 2 by editing the config_mp file and enabling sli and turning the cap from 90 to 250 FPS.
The last MW2 patch they released took out the commands so now I'm stuck at 90 fps...

Why are they making Modern Warfare 2 worse with their patches? What is the point of having a good gaming rig if I can just get a $500 PC and have the same quality ?
Did they limit the fps so that it's less strain on the shitty P2P ? Dedicated servers now please !
A 90 fps would be fine if my system could put out a max of 90 fps. If it can put out a whole lot more it's not fine. All that IW has to do is put in their next patch a "seta maxfps "0"" and the problems solved. No cap on the fps and everyone is happy. If you think 60 fps is ok then fine. 90? fine. More? fine. It seems really silly to have a cap on a platform when the platform can do so much more. I don't understand the logic...
With the higher fps the game plays much smoother; without blur when I move my mouse around.
Do me a favor, go into CoD4 and open console type /com_maxfps 60 then play for a few minutes. Then open the console again and type in /com_maxfps 0 and experience the difference. This will only work, of course, if you have a good pc and can get a good fps. Type cg_drawfps 1 to see your frames per second displayed. I know there's not much of a difference between like 90-120fps or like 60-80 but you can absolutely tell the difference between 90 and 200.
I was getting over 200 fps in Modern Warfare 2...
